How does a typical coaching session work?

First, we clarify what issue you want to work on and what your goal is with respect to that issue. Usually, already at this stage, one or more proven methods for resolving inner blockages and releasing stress will be applied. As a rule, deeper layers of the problem surface or other relevant aspects become apparent, which can then be addressed. During and at the latest near the end of the coaching session, we check how your perception and reactions to the topic we have worked on have changed. Usually there will also be a “homework assignment” at the end for integration and deepening of the transformation.

If you do not want to disclose the topic for the session, this is perfectly fine. The coaching can also be (mostly) content-free. In this case, it is sufficient if you tell me so at the beginning of the appointment. You can then determine as a goal, for example, that you feel calm and serene when you think about the initial situation or when a similar situation occurs.

A common misconception is that a coach presents a ready-made (standard) solution. That would be counselling or training, but not coaching. In this respect, the term “life counselling,” which is also often used for coaching, is misleading. In fact, a coach’s task is to support you in finding the solution that is right for you in your individual situation. Counselling elements can be incorporated into a coaching session if necessary, for example, if I suggest specific relaxation exercises for your everyday life.

A coaching session takes about an hour. Allowing a few minutes for yourself afterward is highly recommended.

Dealing with the root of the problem instead of fighting symptoms

Life coaching (so-called life counselling) can deal with different personal challenges. Business coaching, on the other hand, refers only to professional or business issues.

They differ only with regard to the area of life they address. Both also facilitate directly or indirectly the coachee’s personal development. While some methods mainly focus on changing certain behaviors, techniques such as EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique), Intention Tapping or The Wholeness Work® get to the root of the problem. This is why they are so effective in supporting personal development. Resilience coaching – for example, to prevent burnout – will not only reduce the stress (the symptom) but also address the causes.

I offer individual coaching online so you can join the session from the comfort of your home. You can choose between different packages or individual appointments, depending on how in-depth or long-term you want our cooperation to be. To get the most benefit as a new client, it is usually best to schedule three sessions at intervals of one to two weeks.

Individual appointment or special package? You decide

 

You can choose between booking individual sessions or special packages of 3, 5 or 10 sessions each. Which option is best for you ultimately depends on the topic or goal you want to move forward with. The easiest way to find out what alternative will be most beneficial is to book a free preliminary consultation, after which I can make you a suitable suggestion.

Rescheduling

If an appointment has been made and is cancelled up to two days in advance, you can reschedule it free of charge. An appointment that is not cancelled at least 48 hours in advance will be charged at the usual session fee.

Important notes on coaching sessions

In certain cases, a problem that has existed for many years can be resolved in one or two sessions. Also, a seemingly simple issue may have numerous deeper layers and take several appointments. Like any other reputable coach, I cannot guarantee a specific outcome, as each person is unique.

My coaching offer is designed to improve your quality of life. It is intended for people who want to develop their potential and/or deal with certain situations or other people more serenely and in a more self-empowered way than before. When you book a coaching session, you agree that you are a free agent and that you are responsible for the decisions you make in your life afterward. If you suffer from acute health or mental illnesses, please consult a doctor, naturopath or psychotherapist of your choice. Coaching sessions are no replacement for medical treatment or therapy.
